Employers and industry

As a provider of graduates, a research institution and an entity of significant community stature, the University of Melbourne has much to offer employers and industry.

Within the Growing Esteem strategy, the University has three areas in which it concentrates: research and research training, learning and teaching, and knowledge transfer. Each can have a significant role for external organisations.

For government and industry, much attention centres on the commercialisation of knowledge. Accessing our research expertise can benefit small and large companies, as well as the University and wider communities, in areas from medicine to microelectronics. Our research training is also an opportunity for accessing researchers with highly skilled supervisors.

In learning and teaching the University offers services for employers including opportunities to recruit new graduates and a free online facility for verifying a graduate's qualification. The University also consults with employers and industry in relation to our coursework education.

Knowledge transfer is the umbrella under which our engagement with employers and industry operates. We aim for a coordinated approach to engaging with potential and existing partners and seek two way transfer of knowledge with employers and industry.
