Implementing our strategy

Growing Esteem 2010 is a carefully considered statement of the University’s intention to be one of the finest in the world, and its methods for achieving this goal. The strategy permeates all aspects of the University’s operations through the planning cycle, which is described in Ensuring Accountability.

The 2011-2014 University of Melbourne Plan is being drafted based on the principles of Growing Esteem 2010. It will contain University-wide goals, indicators and activities designed to achieve the vision expressed in Growing Esteem 2010. It will inform and be informed by triple helix plans.

Material to guide divisional business planning in priorities for research, learning and teaching, and engagement is being drafted. These triple helix plans and an enablers plan will contain goals, actions and targets against which responsible officers need to report annually. These plans will be revised each year until 2014, to ensure their currency.

The University Council will consider the plans for endorsement, in time for implementation in 2011. The existing University of Melbourne Plan 2010 guides operations until the new plans are endorsed.
